CARA Study of RENEW

A scientific study of the effectiveness of the RENEW process in parishes was conducted by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA), a leading research center for pastoral trends based at Georgetown University.

The CARA study reported the following strong results:
    • Ninety-eight percent of participants would highly recommend the RENEW process to others.
    • Ninety percent of participants acknowledge considerable spiritual growth.
    • Young adults feel involvement in RENEW encourages thinking and talking about faith.
    • Parish unity deepens through the sharing of common experiences within a spiritual climate.
    • Substantial numbers of active people become involved in church and community life.
    • New lay leaders emerge and are trained.
    • Vocations to religious and ordained life are encouraged among participants.
    • RENEW creates an unparalleled sense of belonging to the parish.
